Careggi is not only a sanitary place, it is a city inside the city, in fact there are many buildings concerning the University studies and also all that is concerned with the hospital reception for people. Now the Careggi Hospital Company has decided to create a museum close to the new entrance of Careggi in which we can see different objects that have been used in the hospital structure as for example some wax works dating back to the XVIII and XIX century of a remarkable scientific importance coming from the glorious tradition of the Specola.

Original witnesses about the works exhibited and the life and the social conditions in the nineteenth century are clearly pointed out according to the documents of that age.

The goal of this exhibition is to lead the visitor and to let him understand some difficult topics as the human suffering, and in this way «Beyond the body, man» is addressed not only to adults but to young people too.
